Meet Emily Brenner
Trial Lawyer, Counseling Psychologist & Rabbi
Emily Brenner is the founder of the Brenner Law Group. She brings over 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer, family lawyer, mediator, negotiator, and nationally-certified psychologist to every aspect of our exclusive divorce and family law practice.
Attorney Emily Brenner discusses her personal and professional experience in family law.
Ms. Brenner received her BA cum laude from Barnard College in New York City, and her JD cum laude from the Woodrow Wilson College of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. She was admitted to the Georgia bar in 1982 and went straight into trial practice.
In 1990, she was accepted to the National Board of Trial Advocacy – the 14th woman in the United States to achieve that distinction. In 1994, Ms. Brenner was named to the Domestic Relations Advisory Board of the American Bar Association.
Mediation and negotiation are an important part of a divorce and custody practice. Besides her trial experience, she has mediated well over a hundred cases and has special training in the mediation of high-conflict cases.
When Ms. Brenner is not in the courtroom advocating for her clients, she spends her time teaching and helping others as a Rabbi.
Ms. Brenner prides herself on her flexibility and creative approach to problem-solving in family law cases.
Emily Brenner’s philosophy centers on thorough preparation for each client’s case: “The important thing to remember is that contested cases must be prepared as though they are going to trial. We’re always open to negotiating a good settlement. We get the evidence we need so that we’re ready if the case has to be tried. It is always better to negotiate from a position of preparedness and strength.”
Ms. Brenner prides herself in her flexibility and creative approach to problem-solving in family law cases. She often makes use of experts in business evaluation, appraisal, forensic accounting, career counseling, trust and estate law, financial planning, and others to optimize clients’ assets where asset division and support issues are concerned.
